What Static Caravan For Sale Should I Choose?
Static caravans come in a range of sizes that are usually 10 foot or 12 foot wide and from 28 foot to 40 foot long. There are many manufacturers based in the UK that build a range of static caravans in different sizes and configurations so there is a great choice for buyers. The standard sizes range from the small 28 by 10 foot two bedroom models, to 36 by 12 foot 3 bedroom models with various size combinations in between. The choice of size that is right for you really depends on your needs and your budget. Larger size caravans are more expensive and added specifications such as double glazing and central heating increase the cost. If you are looking for a static caravan to buy and use for the majority of the year, you should consider options such as extra insulation, central heating and double glazing. If you are looking to sub-let your caravan to make extra money to pay site fees and re-coup your investment, the three bedroom models offer more flexibility for letting. If you want a static caravan primarily for your own use, you may want to choose a smaller two bedroom option to keep down the costs or get a larger caravan with two bedrooms and enjoy the living space. Other extras can include exterior decking which is really useful if you want outdoor space, some parks even offer hot tubs as an option for that added little touch of luxury.

What is Best, a New or Used Static Caravan?
If you are looking to buy a caravan on a park in Devon, you will often be faced with the choice of buying a new holiday home or a second hand caravan on your chosen holiday park. There are several considerations that will impact your buying decision and probably the most important will be the cost. The majority of holiday parks that offer on site caravans for sale will have a fixed lease term. For static caravans, this is usually 12 years and for lodges, it would typically be 30 years. Holiday parks offer fixed term leases to maintain standards of accommodation on their parks, to avoid older and unsightly homes as they suffer from wear and tear and to keep their parks modern. Holiday homes are built to offer a fixed term life span, they are not built for usage significantly beyond their expected lifetime. Therefore, if you buy a new caravan on a park, you get the benefit of the full term of the lease and you will pay the price for a brand new holiday home. If you buy a second hand caravan, the term of the lease will be shorter than the maximum and the cost of buying your holiday home will be lower.
There are other considerations as well, such as the facilities, size, space configuration and the number of bedrooms that suit the needs of the client. Whilst a new home may be ordered with the exact specifications required, there may be the option of purchasing a second hand home that fits your needs at a lower price and this is often the case. As in all major purchasing decisions, it is important to stick to your budget and also consider ongoing costs such as gas, electricity and site fees. If you are looking to sub-let, you might want specifications that enhance your ability to let your home to holidaymakers, central heating and double glazing improve letting rates during winter months and hot tubs are proven to improve letting rates all year around. Decking is also great as it allows you to have a private outdoor space and you can furnish your decked area. Within all of this, price is the key factor, work out your budget, the running costs and what you want to spend annually to make the best decision on choosing a new or second hand caravan to buy on a holiday park.
